About the role
The Western Health Hospital Based Palliative Care Consultancy Team are looking for an exceptional clinical nurse with outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills who is interested undertaking a consultancy role within the team.
The team focuses on providing high standard of care and expertise for hospital patients who require palliative care. The team has a strong focus on a multidisciplinary approach to patient care in order to support patients and their families during the transition to this phase of care. High standards of nursing care are achieved through staff striving for excellence in their practice therefore, professional development play an important role in maintaining these standards.
This role will be permanent part time on a Monday to Friday rotating roster across multiple Western Health sites.

Selection Criteria
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have successfully completed a bachelor of nursing qualification or equivalent
- Need to be eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold current registration with AHPRA
- Have completed post graduate studies in Palliative Care Nursing
- Have palliative care nursing experience (highly desirable)
- Be committed to high quality, safe and person centred care
- Possess excellent clinical and assessment skills
- Have effective organisational skills with respect to time management and delegation
- Have well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Have effective interpersonal skills
- Need to demonstrate an ability to lead and practice collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary health care team
- Demonstrate evidence of undertaking professional development activities to maintain and enhance nursing expertise
