Whether revisiting cherished places, traveling to dream destinations, or immersing in beloved activities, our Volunteer Virtual Reality Guides are here to assist our clients every step of the way.

Selection Criteria

We are looking for someone with:

  • Empathy 
  • Strong communicating skills 
  • Drivers License 
  • Police Check Working with Children Check will be required
  • IT skills - use of laptop, WIFI connection, troubleshooting, operating VR goggles and headsets.
What is offered

As a Volunteer - Virtual Reality Guide with Peninsula Home Hospice, you'll be part of the team who provides clients and carers non-clinical support to enhance quality of life and actively support a culture of care and compassion. Our aim is to optimise quality of life and honour the hope for comfort, choice, dignity and peace.

You'll have the opportunity to visit clients and their families, guiding them in the use of Virtual Reality goggles. By using Virtual Reality goggles, clients can achieve their "bucket list" items, bringing a sense of joy and fulfillment to both themselves and their loved ones, even when physical travel is not possible. 

Using IT skills - use of laptop, WIFI connection, troubleshooting and prior experience operating VR goggles/headsets, you will guide our clients with step-by-step instruction and interaction to ensure they get the most out of this unique experience.
